NLP
Neuro Linguistic Programming
Dr John Grinder and Dr Richard Bandler developed Neuro-linguistic
programming in the 1970’s.
Elliott trained under
Dr Richard Bandler to reach the very highest level of 'NLP trainer'.
NLP considers that life derives from the internal models
in our heads. Put simply, the world we perceive is not the
real world, but our own unique model that we live in as
though it were real.
It studies the structure of subjective experience –
how each individual filters, modifies, and organizes the
sensory input from the external world. As people develop
a practical understanding of how their inner model works,
they can learn to change unhelpful habits, thoughts, feelings,
and beliefs for more useful ones.
At the heart of NLP is understanding how people do things
well, a discipline known as modelling the structure of human
excellence. NLP seeks to identify and define the processes
and mind patterns of top performers to discover the difference
between competence and excellence. NLP can be broken down
into three parts.
‘Neuro’ refers to the neurological processes
of seeing, hearing, smelling, and tasting, which form the
basic building blocks of experience. ‘Linguistic’
refers to the way we all use language in order to represent
and organise our experience and communicate with others.
‘Programming’ refers to the strategies and techniques
we use to organize these inner results.
Hypnotic methods have been incorporated into NLP to take
changes to a higher level
